Overview
It is important for home care providers to fully understand the implications of Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation and to ensure that practice is compliant and effective at any time Voluntary Assisted Dying is encountered in home care. At LPA we recognise that Voluntary Assisted Dying can be a confronting issue for consumers and their families considering it, and also for home care staff who may experience a challenge to their individual morals and beliefs.
This course will support home care providers to understand Voluntary Assisted Dying in practice and to provide clear guidance to staff practice requirements and limitations. The information presented in this course draws on relevant legislation, government reports and insights from the introduction of Voluntary Assisted Dying. Importantly the roles of home care staff will be discussed in detail along with resources and information to support complaint and effective practice.
