The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority is looking for feedback following the release of the Consultation Paper on the Pricing Framework for Australian Support at Home Aged Care Services 2026-27.

IHACPA will provide evidence-based pricing advice on the new Support at Home program to the government so that funding reflects the costs of safe, high-quality services, and is looking for input from providers, workers, peak bodies, home care clients, families, and government departments and agencies.

The consultation survey will include questions about:

  • pricing principles
  • data and information requirements
  • pricing methodology
  • pricing adjustments
  • priorities for future pricing advice.

All seven questions from the consultation paper are included in the survey, but participants need only respond to those relevant to them.

Data gathered will then be used to develop the Pricing Framework for Australian Support at Home Aged Care Services 2026-2027.

IHACPA chair David Tune said everyone with an interest in aged care is encouraged to engage with the consultation and share their feedback.

“We want to work closely with our stakeholders to ensure our pricing advice for the Support at Home service list meets the needs of the aged care sector and reflect the costs of delivering safe, high-quality services for older Australians,” said Mr Tune.

Submissions can be made online, or via email to submissions.ihacpa@ihacpa.gov.au.

There is also the option to post responses to IHACPA PO Box 483, Darlinghurst, NSW 1300.

The consultation period closes at 5pm AEST 18 July.
