Following the retirement of former chief executive officer Jenni Allan in January, Hunter region and Central Coast based aged and disability home care services provider ADSSI has announced a new scholarship program.
ADSSI chairperson Alison Tattersall said the scholarship recognises Ms Allan’s 20-year dedication to the care sector and a strengthening of ADSSI’s commitment to its workforce.
“Jenni was passionate about supporting vulnerable people in our community. She was also a strong advocate for continuous learning, ensuring staff had the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care,” she said.
“Through this scholarship, we not only honour Jenni’s legacy but also invest in our people, helping them grow and develop in their careers,” Ms Tattersall added.
Ms Allan told Community Care Review that she is “incredibly honoured” to have the scholarship created in her name.
“It’s very humbling, and I hope it inspires others to keep learning, growing, and giving their best to the people we serve,” she told CCR.

The scholarship initiative will provide $2,500 annually in financial support to two staff members who wish to pursue further education, training or professional development relevant to their roles, to be paid in the following financial year.
ADSSI chief executive officer John Baillie highlighted the initiative’s impact on the organisation’s workforce, saying staff are “at the heart of the care we provide,” and that by supporting their learning and development, ADSSI can ensure employees have opportunities to build skills, advance their careers and deliver the best possible care to clients.
“We are excited to launch this initiative and look forward to its positive impact on our team and the broader community. We want staff to know they can invest in themselves and grow with ADSSI,” Mr Baillie said.
Applications are open now and recipients will be announced during Carer’s Week in October.
