Anzac Day is a time to reflect and honour veterans, Bolton Clarke chief executive officer Stephen Muggleton has told Community Care Review, with many of their veteran clients and residents having incredible stories of service.

He said it was also an opportunity give them a platform to share their stories and lessons with new generations.

As they mark 140 years of caring for Australians in 2025, Mr Muggleton said supporting veterans in the community remained an integral part of the Bolton Clarke story.

“We have a range of Anzac Day activities planned across our homes and villages with many involving local RSL sub-branches and veteran residents, including a number of our centenarian World War II veterans,” said Mr Muggleton.

“Highlights will include the popular dawn service at Bolton Clarke Fernhill in Caboolture, which attracts hundreds from across the local community and morning services at Bolton Clarke Fairview in Pinjarra Hills and Bolton Clarke Willowdale in Denham Court.

“Our Home and Community Support clients and team members will also be attending local community commemorations and wreath-laying ceremonies.”

Mr Muggleton said Anzac Day is strongly tied to Bolton Clarke’s history with then Lieutenant Colonel William Kinsey Bolton leading Australia’s 8th Battalion in the landing at Anzac Cove.

“Bolton’s Ridge on the right flank of Anzac Cove was named in his honour. Once back on home soil, he was a founding member of the forerunner of the Returned and Services League of Australia and advocated for the establishment of veterans’ homes,” he said.

“Every Anzac Day looks different across our homes, villages and services with team members supporting residents and clients to commemorate the day in a way that is meaningful to them,” he added.
