Wyong welcomes new community service

Bolton Clarke has opened a hub on the New South Central Central Coast to support older people and their carers.

Independent not-for-profit aged care provider Bolton Clarke Home and Community Support has opened a new community hub north of Sydney to help support local older people accessing aged care services.

The hub in Wyong will provide a central location to help people to age well at home, including a dedicated local team for the provier’s existing home care services on the New South Wales Central Coast.

It will also offer older people extra support in navigating My Aged Care and free education sessions on topics related to positive ageing.

The hub offers an opportunity to bring the community together to help tailor services for older people and their families across the regions, said chief operating officer of home and community support Deidre McGill.

“With more than one in four (27 per cent) Central Coast residents aged 60 or older, our new Wyong hub will work with coast seniors and communities to help people live and age positively.”

The hub opened last Thursday with an open day for industry partners and locals to explore the services available, and comes 140 years since Bolton Clarke began offering in-home services.

“We started home care in Australia with a single nurse in Melbourne in 1885, and today we support 130,000 people on the coast and across Australia with connected care services including home care, specialised nursing, allied health, retirement living and residential aged care,” Ms McGill said.
