Vantiva launches remote care solution
The platform aims to support longer independent living at home through engagement, monitoring and video conferencing technology.
Global technology company Vantiva has launched a television-based solution for home and residential aged care and assisted living providers in Australia to deliver remote monitoring, care and engagement.
Vantiva’s HomeSight Connected Care Suite provides secure connections between caregivers, individuals requiring care and their family members to facilitate longer independent living.
It also features a secure, cloud-based management platform and environmental sensors that track daily routines. The technology aims to give care providers data they can use to personalise care plans based on individuals’ needs and preferences.
Vice President for HomeSight at Vantiva Navneeth Kannan told Community Care Review he was excited for the opportunities to improve care and reduce social isolation for elderly Australians.
“I have seen these benefits from my own personal experience – my 90-year-old father uses the HomeSight system. It brings peace of mind knowing I can easily and securely connect with him, and that his daily activities are being monitored,” Mr Kannan said.
“Our vision is for all care providers to offer remote care options to complement their existing in-person care – we call it blended care. It makes sense to provide monitoring and connected care options for the times when a carer can’t be present. We think that being TV-centric, HomeSight is the ideal solution, as it uses familiar, easy-to-use technology.”
The TV-based platform facilitates real-time communication between clients via a built-in smart camera, while features for caregivers and families include video calling, photo sharing, and customisable care reminders and schedules.
Currently, the platform supports English, Spanish, Dutch and French, and in addition to Australia, is available in the United States of America, Europe and United Kingdom.
Ms Kannan told CCR the sector could expect more features in the platform in the future.
“We see the HomeSight system further developing in areas such as wellness monitoring and analytics; expanding the range of connected medical and wellness devices, such as thermometers and pulse oximeters, and providing more in-depth analytics and insights from the data collected,” he said.
“We will also be adding features that makes HomeSight more useful in care homes and assisted living facilities.”
