LPA appoints Galiazzo GM

Lorraine Poulos and Associates has promoted senior consultant Marisa Galiazzo to general manager.

Experienced aged care executive Marisa Galiazzo has been appointed general manager of Lorraine Poulos and Associates to assist with the growth of the Sydney-based consultancy and training organisation as well as the evolving sector.

Ms Galiazzo who joined LPA Consulting as a senior consultant in June 23 – has over 25 years of leadership experience in government and the not-for-profit roles, and particular expertise in business process improvement, strategic planning, transition management, organisational design, and change implementation.

She spent over 10 years at home care provider Care Connect, where her roles included general manager of aged care and national manager for the out-of-hospital care program. Ms Galiazzo also worked at the Department of Health and Aged Care for over five years and ran her own consultancy for six. She currently serves on the board of Just Better Care Australia and is also government relationship manager at LPA.

LPA managing director Lorraine Poulos said she was delighted to appoint Ms Galiazzo as the organisation’s first GM in an exciting period of growth and transformation for the sector and the team.

“Having supported the sector for over 15 years, we acknowledge that there is evolving support needed by providers as they navigate these changes.

“Marisa brings a wealth of experience to this role, building on her successful tenure at LPA to date as a senior consultant and her expertise in managing key stakeholder relationships,” Ms Poulos told Community Care Review.

Ms Galiazzo’s appointment last week follows LPA appointing health and disability care executive Sarah Cheney as its first chief operating officer in March 2023.

Ms Galiazzo said with the introduction of the new Aged Care Act and the Support at Home program, her focus would be on supporting LPA’s consultancy team and guiding providers through the significant reforms so they are well-prepared to navigate the changes and continue delivering high-quality care.

“I am thrilled to take on the role of general manager at LPA during this pivotal time for the aged care sector,” Ms Galiazzo told CCR.

“I am committed to leveraging my experience to support our clients in adapting to this new landscape and in implementing strategies that will position them for long-term success.”
