Sundale appoints CEO

Cameron Taylor is an experienced property and retirement living leader.

The board of Queensland aged care and retirement living provider Sundale has appointed experienced property and retirement living leader Cameron Taylor as its new chief executive officer.

Mr Taylor comes to the role after more than four years at affordable seniors’ accommodation provider Eureka Group Holdings. He was CEO there for the last two-and-half as CEO, where he oversaw the repositioning and expansion of the business. Prior to that he held lead property roles at Woolworths Group and Flight Centre Travel Group.

Mr Taylor said he was excited to join Sundale – a not-for-profit business on the state’s Sunshine Coast employing more than 600 people.

“I’m excited about the challenge and the opportunity to lead Sundale and help implement the board’s strategic vision, which will ultimately lead to better services, more community-centric environments and greater stability of our operations,” he said.

His appointment comes after a four-month search process and period of interim leadership following the departure of Helen Sharpley in early 2024. Sundale is a community-based organisation with over 10 aged care homes and retirement living sites in six locations on the Sunshine Coast and Boyne Island and a home care service for the region.

Terence Seymour

Sundale chairperson Terence Seymour said Mr Taylor’s strategic vision and strong leadership skills were complemented by a deep understanding of the seniors living sector, including aged care and disability services.

“Cameron’s expertise in property management, asset optimisation and stakeholder engagement, makes him exceptionally well-suited to lead Sundale towards a vibrant and sustainable future,” Mr Seymour said.

“His commitment to social challenges such as homelessness and loneliness aligns with Sundale’s values of compassion and community service.”
