South Australian provider Baptist Care SA has appointed Sue Raw the organisation’s chief executive officer.

South Australian disability and out of home care provider Baptist Care SA has appointed Sue Raw the organisation’s chief executive officer following several months as acting CEO.

Ms Raw – who joined the organisation in September 2022 as chief financial officer – has spent over 12 years in the not-for-profit community sector within a 30-year career that has also included corporate roles. She has a commerce, accounting and economics degree and a background in accountancy and auditing.

Baptist Care SA – which was established 1913 – also provides youth education and employment, and homelessness and therapeutic support services. The NFP organisation has over 1,000 staff and volunteers.

Ms Raw is a person of high integrity, with a high value of accountability and transparency in her leadership, said Baptist Care SA said in a statement. Her robust financial acumen, strategic mindset and systematic approach equip her to excel in the CEO role, the provider said.

Baptist Care SA chair Christine Partington said Ms Raw had fostered and built valuable external stakeholder relationships and partnerships to strengthen the organisation’s standing in the community.

“Her personable nature, both with external stakeholders and our team, enriches the fabric of the organisation,” said Ms Partington.

“The board has great confidence the organisation is in good hands, with Sue working diligently with the board, executive and our team to enable our incredible work for the vulnerable and marginalised in our community.”
