In-home aged care provider Silverchain has advanced its virtual care services by adopting a new remote monitoring platform.

The platform – developed by American technology firm Datos Health – will allow clinicians to remotely manage Silverchain’s homecare clients’ healthcare by monitoring changes in their wellbeing, enabling care teams to intervene in real-time to reduce adverse events.

Dr Anna Barker – Silverchain executive director of data, research & innovation – said the alliance with Datos Health would take remote healthcare in Australia to the next level.

“Our partnership with Datos Health reflects Silverchain’s dedication to advancing remote care for our 115,000 clients in Australia who will benefit through increased and improved access to healthcare when they need it and when it’s convenient for them.”

She added: “Integrating the Datos platform will allow our clinicians to provide better care, improve their workflow, and allow them to spend more time to focus on high-value tasks for our clients.”

Silverchain’s clients will also be provided with a patient care app. “The client-facing app gives clients increased access to their own health and care information,” said Dr Barker. “They have greater control of their care, and it empowers them to interact more effectively with their Silverchain team.”

Uri Bettesh

Datos Health founder and CEO Uri Bettesh said each client had their own set of unique needs. “Datos Health was designed to meet those individual needs in a way that clinicians could benefit from as well.”

The platform will enable Silverchain’s clinicians to provide homecare clients with self-care tools and personalised care plans.

“These digitally enabled care plans are the next generation in remote care for Australians, helping to support Silverchain’s care teams in focusing their time on the patients that need them the most, wherever they are,” said Mr Bettesh.
