Chorus has announced the appointment of Debbie Karasinski as a non-executive director of its board.

West Australian aged care, disability and mental health service provider Chorus has announced the appointment of experienced human services leader Debbie Karasinski as a non-executive director of its board.
Ms Karasinski (pictured above) has worked in the health, disability, aged care and mental health sectors in Western Australia for over 40 years within not-for-profit, corporate and government environments across service delivery, policy development and governance.
Those roles have included inaugural chair of the Child and Adolescent Health Service board, chief executive officer of disability provider Senses Australia, CEO of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of WA, and chief occupational therapist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
She also has extensive experience in the broader social welfare area chairing a range of government-led forums, taskforces and advisory councils, as well as roles on several boards including her current position on the board of private mental health facility Perth Clinic.
Ms Karasinski has been awarded master’s and bachelor’s degrees in science and applied science and a Centenary Medal in 2000 for her contribution to people with multiple sclerosis. In 2019, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her contribution to people with disability and the WA community.

Chorus has over 1,000 staff and volunteers who provide in-home and community support in communities across Perth and south-west WA.
In announcing the appointment this week, Chorus chair Dr Moira Watson said she was delighted to welcome Ms Karasinski to the board.
“Debbie’s strong leadership skills in the community care sector together with experience in governance and policy will help guide Chorus with strategic direction. We look forward to Debbie making a positive impact in the Chorus community.”
Ms Karasinski commenced her role in January.
