In-home care provider Silverchain is offering self-funded services for older Australians living independently in Victoria.

As an alternative to government-funded home care packages, Silverchain Private Care will provide people in metropolitan Melbourne with a broad range of tailored health and aged care services including help with personal care and wellbeing, care for chronic or complex health needs, ongoing clinical care, or transitional care following a hospital stay.

Carolyn Bell

Silverchain executive director, Victoria, Carolyn Bell said the service supports clients to maintain independence, quality of life and wellbeing.

“We understand how overwhelming it can be navigating the aged and healthcare systems,” said Ms Bell in a statement. “Silverchain Private Care has been established to assist families and provide guidance to ease the stress of coordinating and managing care.”

The private service provides clients with a clinically trained care manager who designs a personalised care plan and connects them to a network of health professionals 24/7.

“For those who are looking for an alternative to residential aged care, services while they wait for government-subsidised support, or something in between, our care experts can help,” said Ms Bell.

Silverchain has plans to continue to expand its private service offerings in other areas of Melbourne to meet community demand. It also provides fee-for-service options in Western Australia and South Australia.
