She was also president of ResMed’s Asia Pacific arm and vice president of worldwide marketing for advanced sterilization products at Johnson & Johnson.

Catholic Healthcare chairman Stephen Teulan said Ms Borg was a highly capable, authentic, values-based leader.

“Karen’s deep experience in understanding customers’ needs will lead Catholic Healthcare to further develop our focus on residents, clients, patients and their carers, and support our desire to be responsive and innovative,” Mr Teulan said.

“We warmly welcome Karen to Catholic Healthcare and we look forward to working with her in this important leadership role,” he said.

Ms Borg commences as CEO on 30 August.

She replaces Belinda Moyes who was appointed interim CEO in June following the resignation of managing director David Maher, who left at the end of May after 10 years in the role and 20 with the organisation.
