NDIS provider Independence Australia has launched an all-in-one portal where health professionals can order products and access resources.

NDIS provider Independence Australia has launched an all-in-one portal where health professionals can order products and access resources to help them make informed decisions about suitable purchases for clients.

The Independence health professionals platform also contains product information, sizing charts, education, access to free continence samples and research.

The Victoria-based social enterprise is the only NDIS provider in the state to offer participants both core supports and consumables.

Its consumables range offers products to manage symptoms of incontinence, dysphagia and walking and mobility difficulties in categories covering wound care, nutritional aides, skincare, daily living aids and protective aids.

Independence Australia started in 1957 as the Paraplegic Association of Victoria and became one of the state’s a major providers when it received funding under the Disability Services Act in 1987.

It was renamed Independence Australia in 2008.

Independence Australia acquired Mobility Aids Australia in 2012 and merged with DASSI in 2015.

Independence Australia says it takes a unique approach in leveraging the sale of health care products to support is core charitable purposes, and sales go towards the delivery of programs like non-funded psychology and counselling programs.
