Aged care technology vendor Hayylo, Kingston City Council, and the home care provider it auspices, AccessCare, signed off on the deal last week.

Under the agreement Australian startup Hayylo will implement back-to-back technology to help AccessCare provide support services to more than 3,000 people in the local government area.

Hayylo will provide a central communication hub where clients will be able to find out about schedules and service options and get access to budgets, statements and invoices.

It will give AccessCare a platform to operate an integrated smart call centre combining self-service voice responses, SMS and email chat from a single screen as well as customised client app containing person details, preferences and documentations.

AccessCare Manager Margie Hanrahan says organisation is proud to be a pioneer and quick adopter of technology.

“(It will help us) to help us deliver greater care outcomes for clients and greater efficiencies for our teams”,  she said in a statement.

A first for local government

“The project is believed to be the first of its kind anywhere in Australia for a council to be adopting client-facing technology withing the aged and community care sector,” Hayylo CEO Greg Satur said in a statement.

The company says self-service, on-demand and transparency of information underpin the partnership, which it says will move the dial forward on communication and speed of response to client needs.

“It addresses the highest levels of care services by empowering clients, families and field teams with awareness and control over the decisions that involve them,” Mr Satur said.

The system is expected to take up to 10 weeks to have in place and it will integrate with Civica’s CarelinkPlus software that is currently used by more than 150 Australian aged care and disability providers.

A similar ecosystem is currently used by Mercy Care Services and Spinal Life Australia.
