Happy festive season from CCR

As the CCR team wraps up for the year we’d like to thank all our readers and partners for your interest and engagement through what has been a truly extraordinary year.

As the CCR team wraps up for the year we’d like to thank all our readers and partners for your interest and engagement through what has been a truly extraordinary year.

Despite the turmoil and economic uncertainty of the past 12 months we’re proud to say we were able to successfully launch the new Community Care Review website in April, and we hope we’ve been able to keep you informed and up-to-date across all our platforms with the stories you need to know.

There certainly hasn’t been a shortage of news for the sector, with separate royal commissions into aged care and disability, the full roll-out of the NDIS and ever-growing demand for in-home care – not to mention a global pandemic that’s forced the aged and community care sector to innovate and adapt as never before.

The royal commissions have highlighted many of the shortcomings of aged and disability care.

But they’ve also showcased the other side of the story, which is the commitment, creativity, resilience, dedication and sheer grit of so many of you in the industry in the face of tough times.

There’ll be plenty to watch out for 2021. It’s set to start with a bang with the aged care royal commission handing down its final report by February 26, which is expected to contain some key recommendations for home care, including tackling the perennial problems of waiting list and unspent funds.

In the new year we’ll be continuing to report on what’s working in the industry and what isn’t; what the latest research is finding; where policy developments are taking the sector; news, views and the latest products and resources.

We also want to keep hearing your thoughts and input. Feel free to contact us to comment on a story or make a suggestion about areas you’d like to read more about. We love to hear from you!

The CCR team will be taking a well-deserved break until January 16, but we’ll still be sending your newsletters which will contain our top reads of the year as well as a few editor’s picks, so don’t forget to check your inboxes.

From the team at CCR and AAA, we wish you a safe, happy and restful festive season and a productive and successful new year.
