Awards to celebrate innovation in aged care
Innovative organisations in the age services industry are being encouraged to nominate their organisations for the innovAGEING National Awards.
Nominations are open for the 2020 innovAGEING Awards which recognise innovation in the aged care sector.
The national awards recognise providers for coming up with innovative ways of providing quality care, improving workforce and organisational structure, creating alternative revenue channels and keeping up with new demands.
They are also open to providers of products and services.
Head of innovAGEING Merlin Kong says the dynamic nature of the industry has created a fertile ground for new directions.
“Age services is emerging as a key driver of innovation in Australia, from innovative technologies to innovative processes, bringing a fresh perspective to our industry,” he said in a statement.
“It’s more than high-tech features, it’s about applying a level of sophistication to our service delivery that takes into account the cultural shift we are experiencing.”
For the first time this year, the awards will also celebrate an individual with its new Age Services Innovator of the Year Award.
The awards are backed by the Commonwealth Bank and KPMG.
National Head of Healthcare at the Commonwealth, Bank Belinda Hegarty, said coronavirus meant the challenges facing aged care this year were beyond what anyone could have expected.
“While it is a very challenging period, it’s equally important we recognise and celebrate the incredible innovation across the sector and the 2020 innovAGEING Awards provides a wonderful opportunity to do just that.”
Innovative organisations can be recognised for their achievements in the following categories:
- Improving Consumer Choice
- Enhancing Consumer Experience

- Increasing Care and Service Productivity
