Ms Forsyth officially takes up the position at the disability service provider on September 1.

Ms Forsyth brings to her new role extensive experience in the disability sector.

She joined Northcott in 2008 as a family support worker and went on hold numerous positions including area manager, business development manager, executive director of Northcott Innovation, general manager customer experience, and general manager supported living.

In 2018 Ms Forsyth was appointed CEO of not-for-profit disability and family support specialist CareSouth and she returned to Northcott at the start of this year to lead integration of the recently acquired provider Creativity Inc .

Ms Forsyth has also led the organisation’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Having spent such a significant amount of my career with Northcott, I am passionate about our mission to support people with disability to live exactly as they choose,” she said in a statement. “

“We have a highly skilled, dedicated team and it is a real privilege to be leading them in the next stage of Northcott’s development.”

Ms Stubbs earlier this year announced her intention to step down after 12 years in the top role.

Ms Forsyth described Ms Stubbs as a leading light in the disability sector and said she had overseen unprecedented growth and financial success at Northcott.

“ I am grateful for Kerry’s mentorship and her business acumen which has put Northcott in such a great position for the future,” Ms Forsyth said.

Chairman Michael Briggs said the Board was pleased that the extensive selection process resulted in the appointment of an internal candidate.

Northcott offers a range of disability services  including Everyday Life Skills Training, Housing and Supported Independent Living plus in-home and community supports.

Its 2,300 staff support almost 10,000 customers, families and carers in more than 120 locations across NSW and the ACT.
