Putting co-production into practice

Home Care Today and CommunityWest are running a series of webinars for aged care service providers on how to co-design aged care services with consumers.

The free webinar will draw on the findings from the Step Forward – Together project, which saw ten aged care providers across the country trial co-production for eight months.

Co-production encourages organisations to move beyond traditional forms of consumer consultation to involve clients in the design and delivery of services.

Project lead Kelly Gray, pilot organisations and consumers will share their experiences and learnings.

The webinar takes place on Tuesday, 21 February at 2:00pm-3:30pm (AEDST). For more information and to register, visit the Home Care Today website.

Supporting best practice dementia care in the community

Home Care Today is also hosting a webinar on consumer directed care and dementia next month.

Presented by Trudy Neal, the webinar will explore the importance of effective partnerships between consumers and service providers in supporting the choices and wellbeing of people with dementia at home.

Ms Neal has worked as a facilitator and consultant with Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria and consulted to providers to improve their model of service.

The Consumer Direction and Dementia in the Community webinar takes place on 7 March, 2.00pm to 3.30pm (AEDST).

Training update on program reporting for CHSP

The Department of Health is hosting a live webinar for Commonwealth Home Support Program providers on the Data Exchange reporting system.

The webinar will cover:

  • the new CHSP Provider Report and how to access it
  • the benefits of participating in the Partnership Approach
  • how to report on specific items, for example, client contribution fees, sessions involving carers, meals and transport.

The webinar takes place on Thursday, 23 February 2:00pm to 3:00pm AEDT and will include opportunities for providers to submit questions.
