Home Care Today, a CDC support project, is hosting a webinar with the Aged Care Complaints Commissioner, Rae Lamb, to discuss common areas of complaint in home care and the processes for handling them.

Ms Lamb will describe her role as commissioner, an independent statutory office holder, discuss case studies of complaints relating to the home care packages program and the principles used to resolve them.

The free webinar will provide some broad themes and data relating to common home care complaints.

The investigation of aged care complaints transferred from the Federal Department of Health to the Aged Care Commissioner on 1 January 2016.

Home Care Today said as the government introduces portability of home care packages from next year, it was important for service providers to understand the nature of consumer complaints and what can be learned from them and to resolve complaints early.

The webinar will take place on 11 October 12:30pm-2:00pm AEST.
